Degradation of Diazepam with Gamma Radiation, High Frequency Ultrasound and UV Radiation Intensified with H2O2 and Fenton Reagent

A degradation study of diazepam (DZP) in aqueous media by gamma radiation, high frequency ultrasound, and UV radiation (artificial-solar), as well with each process intensified oxidizing agents (H2O2 Fenton reagent) was performed. The parameters that influence the such potency frequency, irradiation dose, pH concentration used were studied. Gamma performed a 60Co source irradiator; an 11 W lamp for artificial sonification at values 580 862 kHz varying power values. In radiolysis 100% obtained 2500 Gy. For sonolysis, 28.3% achieved after 180 min 30 power. photolysis, 38.2% 300 exposure. intensification H2O2 increased drug. However, best results combining processes reagent optimum Fe2+ concentrations, respectively, 2.95 mmol L−1 0.06 L−1, achieving shorter treatment time, dose value 750 Gy case thanks to increasing amount free radicals water. optimized evaluated real wastewater, total 10 reaction.
